When the team from the Katy Trail Ice House gets behind something you know good times will ensue. For the second year in a row the Katy Trail Ice House put on an incredible event benefiting Friends of the Katy Trail. Troy Aikman and Jason Garrett also returned this year as honorary co-chairs to help plan the event at Gleneagles Country Club.
The March 21st tournament raised $80,000 for Friends of the Katy Trail proving that good times can generate into some serious dollars. Photos of the KTIH Invitational can be found here.
Last year’s Invitational made it possible for Friends of the Katy Trail to upgrade the irrigation system along the Trail. The SmartLinks system has not only cut down on our water costs, but the new system is much more environmentally friendly than the old one.
We are extremely grateful to have such supportive neighbors. In addition to the KTIH Tournament, the Ice House supports us all year long. They generously give to the Michelob Ultra Katy 5K donating food and sponsorship dollars, they give to the Annual Support Campaign each year, and they host a North Texas Giving Day celebration for us each fall. The Trail entrance at Routh by the Ice House has never looked better thanks to their landscaping and who doesn’t appreciate the water put out daily for our Trail users and their furry friends.
Next time you stop in at the Katy Trail Ice House be sure to thank them for being such supporters of the Katy Trail!
