Spring Support Campaign Update
The Katy Trail’s Spring Support Campaign , which kicked off at the beginning of April, is an important part of raising the $1.5 million in operations funds now needed annually to maintain and enhance the Katy Trail. This campaign helps support the Trail in the first part of the year, especially since the Katy 5K is held in the fall.
Friends of the Katy Trail is pleased to say the campaign has had a fast start, with $60,000 already raised.
Will you help us reach the $100,000 campaign goal?
Your tax-deductible Annual Support donation funds landscape maintenance, beautiful native plants, lights and electricity, signs, security patrols, and water for people, pets, and plants. Thank you!

Katy Trail Art, in partnership with the Dallas Museum of Art, presents Iván Argote’s Wild Flowers for the first time in outdoor public space to engage with visitors to the Katy Trail. Begun in 2021, Wild Flowers is an ongoing series of immersive installations comprised of scattered cast bronze fragments of a figurative statue. Appearing as if nature has taken over and playing upon notions of monuments and time, the artist prompts the viewer to wonder if the statue is being abandoned, removed, or getting ready to be installed.
To read more about the installation and the artist, please visit the Katy Trail Art page.
We hope that you have been enjoying Desert Eagle and Turkey Vulture at Snyder’s Union. Please save the date for our Spring Public Art Talk with artist Will Boone. We are delighted that this discussion will be moderated by Vivian Li, the Lupe Murchison Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Join us on May 10 at 5:30 pm at Snyder’s Union! If inclement weather arises, please keep an eye on our social media stories for any event updates.
