Host Your Event or Activation on the Trail
With more than 4 million visits each year, the Katy Trail is one of Dallas' most loved destinations — a place where our community walks, runs, rides, and connects. We're delighted that you're interested in bringing your event or activation to the Trail and appreciate your support in helping us keep it a special place for everyone.
Friends of the Katy Trail is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working in partnership with the City of Dallas, which owns the Trail land. FKT is dedicated to maintaining, enhancing, and protecting the Trail for the benefit of all who use it.
As the official managing partner of the Trail, FKT has the exclusive responsibility for reviewing and approving all events and activations. Each approved activation helps us sustain the beauty, safety, and accessibility of this incredible urban green space.
Event Considerations and Guidelines
All events and activations on the Katy Trail require prior written approval from Friends of the Katy Trail.
To preserve the Trail experience for everyone, please note that it is not permitted without written authorization to:
- Sell or distribute items
- Hand out promotional or advocacy materials
- Place a sign, display advertising or set up tables
- Conduct commercial photography or filming
We receive many wonderful requests to use the Trail and give thoughtful consideration to each one. In particular, FKT prioritizes events that support the Trail financially and align with its natural beauty and community spirit. Event fees are an important source of funding that help us care for the Trail year round.
Table activations require payment of a fee and start at $1,000 for two hours. Run/Walk activations are priced per participant or a minimum charge of $1,500.
When reviewing requests, we also consider:
- Whether the event complements the Trail environment
- How it will enhance the experience for Trail users
Once approved, our Trail security team is notified to ensure that all events are conducted safely and smoothly.
