Are dogs allowed?
No, now that the race has been moved to June it’s too hot and crowded for dogs. We have seen some dogs get seriously injured and overheated in the past so for their own safety we ask that you leave Fido at home.
Is the race timed and are there awards?
Yes, this is a timed run and medals are given to those that come in 1st-3rd in their age range.
Where do I pick up my race packet?
Race packets will be available at Luke’s Locker – 3046 Mockingbird – Saturday, June 2nd – Wednesday, June 6th. Please pick-up your packet prior to the event!
I just want to spectate and/or enjoy the picnic; do I need to register for the race?
Yes, your bib number is your ticket into the Katy Picnic following the race. If you want to partake in the music, food and drink, you must register as a runner to get a bib. Whether or not you actually run or walk the 5K – that is up to you.
Are strollers allowed?
You are more than welcome to bring your little ones in a stroller. We just ask that you start the race near the back of the pack where it is less crowded for the safety of your little one and others around you.
I have a bib, but I can no longer participate. Can I get a refund or transfer my bib to someone else?
Because this event is a fundraiser, we do not offer refunds. Please consider this your donation to Friends of the Katy Trail. Bibs can be transferred to other individuals. They can run under your name or if they are serious about running and being timed, contact our office and we can have the bib changed to their name.
